In the late 1960s, this building was a steak joint called Chuck’s Cellar, a venue that built a niche in rock history by having American folk-music legends like The Limeliters and Glenn Yarbrough perform. In 1971, Linda Ronstadt assembled a backup band to play a gig at the Cellar and tapped a handful of musicians to play together for the first time. Randy Meisner, Don Henley, and Glenn Frey met as her backup band, and the relationship stuck. They went on to form The Eagles.

Our task was to reinvent the interior of this building by designing an imaginative space for a new Indian restaurant. This older building was made up of multiple floor levels and needed significant alterations and building code upgrades to serve our client’s needs. We were responsible for designing the interior remodeling improvements to the building, including designing and upgrading two separate commercial kitchens; developing a new lower lounge with VIP room; adding a new vertical lift between the main and lower floors; upgrading all toilet rooms; redesigning the main dining room and bar spaces on all floor levels; redesigning the outdoor patio dining area; designing all site improvements, including the rearrangement of the existing parking lot for added handicap parking; and constructing a new trash enclosure at the rear of the building.
